SWM Finance Officer Moves to Strategic Planning

Schweitzer-Mauduit International 's CFO, Peter J. Thompson, has been appointed vice president strategic planning, in which role he will report to Wayne H. Deitrich, chairman of the board and CEO. Thompson, who has served as CFO since August 2006, has more than 11 years of service with Schweitzer-Mauduit. He was president of the company's US operations from November 1998 to August 2006. In this new role, Thompson will be responsible for corporate projects including potential investment opportunities, restructuring and strategic initiatives. Meanwhile, Torben Wetche has been appointed CFO.
