As a basic and leading project of cigarette aromatization, the project of research of core technologies for developing flavors and fragrances for the production of Chinese-style cigarettes comprises three research subjects - research of the method of assessing the role of individual flavors in cigarettes, research of the rate of transfer of representative individual flavors, and research of technologies of compensation for aromas of low-tar-level cigarettes.
The project is intended to establish the system of core technologies for developing flavors and fragrances for producing Chinese-style cigarettes, enable tobacco manufacturing enterprises to become leading players in the development aromatization technologies, enhance the capacity of tobacco manufacturing enterprises to control the quality of cigarette products, enhance their independent innovation capacity, and develop highly qualified human resources for the development aromatization technologies.
The project of research of core technologies for developing flavors and fragrances for the production of Chinese-style cigarettes was officially registered by the STMA in 2004. The project is implemented by Zhengzhou Tobacco Research Institute, Yunnan Tobacco Science Research Institute and Yunnan Reascend Science & Technology Co., Ltd., with cooperation extended by eight tobacco manufacturing enterprises including Shanghai Tobacco Group and Hongta Group.
