Uganda: Madhvani, Victoria Seeds Win Trade Show

THE Madhvani Group of Companies, Victoria Seeds and the Uganda Prisons were the best participants of the 16th agricultural and trade show that ended on Sunday in Jinja. The organisers, the Uganda National Farmers' Federation, announced that in the large-scale companies category, Akamba Uganda emerged winner, the British American Tobacco was second and the Uganda Flower Exporters Association was ranked third. In medium firms category, Kickstart became the first, the Uganda Coffee Development Authority was second, while Tropical Aloe Vera came third. In the small scale group, Starcafe emerged winner, Balton Uganda followed and Solar Plus was ranked third. Animal husbandry state minister Bright Rwamirama handed over trophies to the winners. He urged farmers to engage in modern farming. Over 250 local and foreign exhibitors participated in the show whose theme was "Targeting increased agricultural production to reduce food shortage in the country." Enditem
