Provincial Tobacco Industry Gets Good Report card for January-June

The tobacco industry of central China's Hubei Province registered favorable economic operation in the first half of 2008, with the amount of manufacturing and commercial taxes and profits generated in the six-month period topping 13 billion yuan (1.85 billion U.S. dollars). From January to June, the tobacco industry of Hubei was successful in both cigarette production and marketing, with its leading competitive Red Golden Dragon and Yellow Crane Tower cigarette brands further developing. In the six-month period, the tobacco industry of Hubei sold 53.405 billion Red Golden Dragon brand cigarettes (1.0681 million cases), and 10.00015 billion Yellow Crane Tower brand cigarettes (200,003 cases), with the sales increment of the Yellow Crane Tower on top of the list of all high-grade cigarette brands in China.
