Plans to Demolish Imperial Tobacco Plant in Works

A piece of eastern North Carolina history is still not demolished, though a company has been approved to take the Imperial Tobacco Plant down. Greenville Manager Wayne Bowers says the city is waiting on an environmental consulting firm to prepare an asbestos abatement design plan. That's because Bowers says removing asbestos could be a risk to workers. So once the state approves the plan, then Biggs Brothers Incorporated can demolish it. Enditem
