Aurora's New Lancero

The Dominican Republic's oldest cigarmaker is jumping on the industry's newest trend. La Aurora S.A, which first rolled cigars in 1903, is about to debut an Aurora Preferido Lancero. "We started making them in November of last year," said Jose Blanco, sales director of La Aurora. "It's ready梩he cigars are rested." The 6 7/8-inch-long smokes have slim ring gauges of 40 and are made with a blend identical to that on the Preferido Cameroon, a bulbous, bomb-shaped smoke made with a Cameroon wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican filler. Blanco said only three rollers made the long, slim size, and production was limited to 40,000 cigars. For more on this story, see the current issue of Cigar Insider. Enditem
