Wuhan Tobacco Group Attracts Great Attention at EuroTab 2008

Wuhan Tobacco Group in central China's Hubei Province - one of the largest Chinese tobacco enterprises and the manufacturer of the famous Red Golden Dragon and Yellow Crane Tower brands cigarettes - caught great attention from visitors at the EuroTab 2008 European tobacco show held in the Polish capital city of Warsaw on June 24-26. On the first day of the expo, the show platform of Wuhan Tobacco Group received dozens of groups of visitors, besides large numbers of other participants in the show, including many business agents and potential business cooperation partners, who went there to have a look at the new packaging of sample cigarettes of the Yellow Crane Tower brand. Business receiving visitors and answering questions on the scene were representatives from Wuhan Tobacco Group and senior officials with Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, including Sales Director Ye Xingliang and Marketing Director Qi Xinping. Placed on the counter were Oriental-looking sample cigarettes of the Yellow Crane Tower, sample cigarettes of the RDG - the European version of the Red Golden Dragon manufactured in Romania - and sample cigars made by Wuhan Tobacco Group. The questions most frequently asked by visitors were what would be the trend of development of Wuhan Tobacco Group in international markets and how Wuhan Tobacco Group would manage to establish business links in other countries. Marketing Director Qi Xinping said that the debut of Wuhan Tobacco Group at EuroTab 2008 was just a signal of its move to develop international markets, which indicated its confidence and determination in developing international markets, including European markets. It was reported that since 2007, Wuhan Tobacco Group has quickened its steps in developing international markets. In doing so, it has cooperated with Philip Morris in selling its products to international markets. Moreover, cigarettes of the RDG brand manufactured in Romania have been sold to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other European states. Hubei Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation - the operator of the tobacco industry in Hubei - is planning to strengthen efforts to develop European markets over the next few years, while actively exploring ways of developing markets in Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and South America. Besides efforts to take greater shares of international markets, Wuhan Tobacco Group, more significantly, hopes to learn and draw on successful experience of tobacco manufacturers in other countries in marketing and brands development through the endeavor to develop international markets, in order to enhance its overall capacity and competitiveness. As the largest pan-European tobacco-related retail and distribution show to date, EuroTab 2008 brought together tobacco industry professionals from all over Europe, as well as from North America, Russia and the Former Soviet Republics, the Baltic and Balkan countries, Turkey, and the Near and Middle East.
