JT to Launch Camel Nutty Source from: tr.itsmyiq.com Jun 9, 2008 06/10/2008 Japan Tobacco Inc. announced today the launch next month of Camel Nutty Lights Box in Fukuoka Prefecture.
This 'D-spec' - or reduced odor - product is said to have been developed in response to consumer demand for a non-menthol version of the popular Camel Menthol Box product.
With the aim of increasing its brand equity in Japan's domestic market, where Camel has not yet gained a substantial market share, JT introduced Camel Menthol Box nationwide in March 2007, soon after a successful test marketing phase.
Following the newest introduction, the Japanese market will boast 20 D-spec products, which, as of March 31 this year, have grown to account for 4.59 per cent of the market, increasing by 0.55 percentage points during the previous year.
The decision to launch Camel Nutty Lights Box is said to be in line with JT's strategy of developing high value-added products, such as products utilizing its D-spec technology. Enditem
