Unit Conducts Tobacco Checks in Spring Valley

The Spring Valley Police Department announced on May 4 the department's Tobacco Compliance Unit conducted compliance checks on seven tobacco retailers. Retailers were rewarded with a T-shirt and a pin for complying with the minimum-age tobacco laws and promoting a comprehensive approach to reducing the sale of tobacco products to underage persons. Retailers in compliance were BP, Valley News, Barb's Haven't Seen Em (vending machine), Spring Valley Super Market, Happy's, Spring Valley Mini-Market and Shell. The compliance checks were performed to determine if retailers are complying with state or local minimum-age tobacco laws that prohibit the sale of tobacco to minors. The TCU will conduct four rounds of checks in the next 90 days. Enditem
