French Ruling will Not Disrupt Lucky Strike Sales Source from: tr.itsmyiq.com Apr 24, 2008 04/25/2008 British American Tobacco said on Tuesday that a ban on the import into France of packs of Lucky Strike bearing descriptors deemed to constitute unlawful advertising would not disrupt supplies of the brand, according to a report by Michael Carolan, for Dow Jones Newswires.
A French court on Monday barred the import of packs of Lucky Strike bearing the descriptors 'subtle' aromas and 'fresh and original' flavors, saying they were a form of tobacco advertising.
It gave BAT and Lucky Strike's distributor in France, Altadis Distribution, which is now owned by the Imperial Tobacco Group, 48 hours to halt the imports.
The ruling does not apply to packs already distributed to retailers. Enditem
