Sichuan Deyang Tries to Establish No.1 Cigar Manufacturing Base

On April 15, Li Chongxi, deputy director of Sichuan province went to Shifang in Deyang for investigation. Li urged Deyang county to build No.1 Cigar Manufacturing Base, and expand into international market. Li checked the prepared building land for cigar manufacturing base. The base located at south of Shifang city, and occupied 300 mu in first phase, and kept other 300 mu for further development. At the same day, Deyang City held a meeting on cigar production. The meeting said that governments of Deyang and Shifang, and Chuanyu Tobacco Industrial Corp. cooperated on building No.1 cigar manufacturing base. Now the Deyang city has established sun-cured production base to improve sun-cured tobacco quality. At the meeting , Li said that by the end of 2010, Sichuan tobacco industry will reach double 10 billion yuan target on profits and taxes. In 2008, Sichuan tobacco industry profits and taxes will over 16 billion yuan. Enditem
