Bulgaria Tobacco Monopoly Elects New Head Source from: novinite.com 7 April 2008, Monday 04/08/2008 The Bulgaria cigarette-making monopoly Bulgartabac Holding is expected to choose a new director on Monday after the present head was temporarily dismissed over tax evasion allegations.
The most likely nominee for the position of a second executive director is the present Deputy Director of the Sofia Tobacco Factory Anguel Dimitrov.
He has already been elected a member of the Governing Board of the company at a Sunday meeting of the Supervisory Council.
Bulgaria's Economy Minister Petar Dimitrov has asked the Supervisory Council to dismiss temporarily the Executive Director of the holding Hristo Lachev, charged with tax evasion. He is also under investigation for appropriation of company property.
Dimitrov has demanded that Lachev be out of office until the investigation is over, and Lachev himself has petitioned for a leave. Enditem
