Seven Held for Cigarette Truck Hijack Source from: theherald.co.za Lynn Williams 03/12/2008 SEVEN men were arrested in Port Elizabeth at the weekend for allegedly hijacking a truck containing cigarettes worth more than half a million rands.
The truck was transporting cigarettes to the Garden Route when the men forced the driver off the road near Jeffreys Bay last month.
Some of the hijackers jumped into the truck and forced the driver to drive back to Zwide at gunpoint. There they off-loaded the cigarettes before dropping the truck driver at St George's Strand.
Police recovered two firearms, a Toyota bakkie used in the robbery, some of the cigarettes, sundry drugs and four cellphones.
