Not to be outdone by its neighbor to the west, the world's largest premium cigar producer is holding its own cigar festival. The first annual ProCigar Festival begins today in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Consumers will tour cigar factories and tobacco fields, dine with star cigarmakers, smoke copious amounts of cigars and immerse themselves in the cigar-making culture of the Dominican Republic. ProCigar is an organization of prominent Dominican cigarmakers who are both friends and competitors with the goal of continually improving the quality of premium cigars as a whole.
