BAT Appealing Ruling on Hungary promotion

British American Tobacco Hungary is appealing against a consumer protection agency ruling that resulted in a fine for promotional activities relating to its Pall Mall cigarettes, according to a Trading Markets report. The NFH's second-degree ruling of last month imposed fines totaling FT520 million on BAT and its two partners in the Pall Mall campaign, the Spar and Tesco supermarket chains. All three had earlier appealed against a first-degree ruling. The promotion involved small gifts being given to customers sharing personal details with hostesses. Enditem
