Chuxiong Plant Cuts Energy Use

Chuxiong Cigarette Factory last year reduced the rate of its manufacturing power consumption by 10.2 per cent from that of 2006, and the rate of its overall energy consumption was down by 12.1 per cent, according to a Tobacco China Online report. Chuxiong, which is part of the Hongta Group, reported on the group's website that the energy it consumed manufacturing cigarettes worth Yuan10,000 dropped in 2007 to 28.7 kg coal, while its overall energy consumption fell to 37.2 kg of coal per Yuan10,000 of production.
