Mesa police began searching for 21-year-old Grey since he allegedly robbed a tobacco store on the 1000 block of North Mesa Drive and then left a trail, a police report said.
Police said Grey pulled a gun on a tobacco store employee and demanded money from the register at about 7:15 p.m.

According to police reports, Grey was dropped off at an apartment complex on the 800 block of East Brown Road where he left his gun and shed his clothes.
A witness in the complex told police that she allowed Grey to use her cellphone earlier that night so that he could call for a ride, the report said.
Witnesses told police that they saw Grey getting into his girlfriend's car at the complex, police said.
Mesa police said Grey admitted to the robbery after he was arrested.
