Burglars Break into Merced Tobacco, Gun Shops

Police Lt. Matt Williams said handguns and other property was taken from the Stones Guns store at 835 Martin Luther King Way. The break-in was discovered shortly after 3 a.m. when a burglary alarm was activated. The thieves cut the steel doors on the front door and smashed the glass to enter the building, Williams said. The other burglary was discovered at the Cigar Monkey shop at 1716 Canal St. It was not immediately determined what was taken. Enditem
