Tobacco Hut Robbed at Gunpoint Source from: gretnabreeze.com 01/15/2008 01/16/2008 At 5:31 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, employees of Tobacco Hut, 4011 Harrison St., reported an armed robbery. Two female clerks were working inside the store when a man entered, started to make a purchase, and then pulled a handgun at the register and demanded money. The robber left the store with cash taken from the register.
The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He has sandy blonde hair and a pock-marked face. He was wearing a black coat, blue jeans, and a skateboarder-style black stocking hat with a bill. He was armed with a small, black semi-automatic handgun equipped with a red-dot laser sight.
The suspect ran to a pickup truck parked south of the business. An accomplice was waiting in the vehicle and drove off when the suspect got in. The vehicle is described as a dark green Chevrolet pickup truck, late 80s to early 90s, that has very loud engine noise or a bad muffler.
The handgun used in the robbery was located on the ground beside where the vehicle was parked. It is being examined for fingerprints and other evidence.
