Scottish Government Plans for Retail Licenses Source from: tr.itsmyiq.com Jan 14, 2008 01/15/2008 The licensing of tobacco retailing will form part of an action plan on smoking to be published by the Scottish government later this year, according to a report by Kevin Schofield for The Herald.
A Scottish government source was quoted as saying that after having raised the minimum age for buying tobacco products to 18, the government wanted to ensure adequate enforcement of the law and to do more to discourage people from smoking.
Christine Grahame, a member of the Scottish Parliament, said two months ago that she planned to bring forward a private members' bill on tobacco retail licenses. Enditem
