Japan Tobacco Goes After Pirates Source from: Tajikistan News.Net Saturday 15th December, 2007 12/17/2007 The world's third largest tobacco maker, Japan Tobacco International, has decided to make a large contribution to break the counterfeit cigarette trade.
JTI will contribute some US$400 million to help finance a European Union campaign against the sale of illegal cigarettes.
JTI and the EU have called on other cigarette makers to make similar contributions to the elimination of the illegal trade, which not only affects the cigarette makers but also results in large taxation losses. Enditem
