Nine Businesses Cited for Selling Tobacco to Minors Source from: mansfieldnewsjournal.com News Journal staff report 11/30/2007 Nine businesses in Richland County sold tobacco to underage people during a compliance operation Wednesday.
The METRICH Enforcement Unit, Richland County Sheriff's Department and staff members from Community Action for Capable Youth enlisted the help of a number of people under age 18, who were taken by investigators to various retail locations throughout Mansfield and the county.
In all, they checked 75 businesses. Those that sold to an underage person were the
following:
- Lenny's Pizza Shop, 919 S. Main St.
- Puffs Cigarette & Tobacco, 840 N. Trimble Road
- Meijer gas station, 1355 Lexington-Springmill Road
- AJ's Drive Through, 115 S. Gamble St., Shelby
- Speedway, 907 Springmill St.
- Duke and Duchess, 1000 Ashland Road
- Duke and Duchess, 860 Ohio 97, Bellville
- Shell Oil, Ohio 97, Bellville
- Shell Oil, Bellville
Each employee who sold tobacco products to a minor was cited and will have to appear in Mansfield Municipal Court at a later date. Enditem
