A MAJOR TOBACCO COMPANY ANNOUNCES IT WILL STOP ADVERTISING CIGARETTES IN NEWSPAPERS AND CONSUMER MAGAZINES. THE "R-J REYNOLDS" TOBACCO COMPANY SAYS IT WILL STOP ALL PRINT ADS BEGINNING NEXT YEAR. THE TOBACCO COMPANY WAS UNDER FIRE FOR IT'S COLORFUL AND FEMININE CAMEL NUMBER 9 ADS,, WHICH APPEARED IN FASHION MAGAZINES----AND ANOTHER FOUR PAGE AD THAT APPEARED IN "ROLLING STONE" MAGAZINE. THOSE ADS ANGERED ANTI-SMOKING ADVOCATES WHO SAYS THEY WERE SIMILAR IN MARKETING STRATEGY TO THE OLD "JOE CAMEL" ADS WHICH WERE AIMED AT CHILDREN.
