Tobacco Free Zones In One Local County Save Source from: Nov 7, 2007 Caroline Blair caroline.blair@wctv.tv 11/08/2007 In a four to one vote Tuesday night, the County Board of Commissioners approved an ordinance designating all county owned property tobacco free.
Local officials say they hope this will help take care of the problems they've been having with the use of tobacco products on county property.
"They're just dangerous for anybody and besides they throw their cigarettes down everywhere," said resident Kathleen Butler.
Smoking areas will be designated by the County Administrator. People violating these rules will be asked to stop. Anyone who doesn't comply can face a $1,000 fine or 60 days in prison.
The tobacco free ordinance is now in effect. Enditem
