Nigeria: NIM Constitutes Think-Tank Committee On Energy Crisis Source from: Vanguard (Lagos) 29 October 2007 10/30/2007 WORRIED about the deplorable state of the power sector and worsening economic implications of the lingering crisis in the Niger Delta, the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) has constituted a 14- man think- tank committee charged with the responsibility of fashioning modalities for an enduring solution to the various challenges militating against national economic growth.
The committee which is tagged the solution team is headed by Mr. Adebayo Adenubi, a foremost industrialist and former president of the Institute.
Also on board the intelligence team are foremost renowned architects of national economic development prominent among whom included Professor Ibidapo Obe, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Akoka, and famous industrialist Alhaji Mohammed Koguna.
Other members include Mrs Jacinta A. Olusola, fellow of the institute, Engineer Titi Omo- Etu, Chairman Chief Executive of Telecom Answers, a leading IT solutions firm, Brigadier- General Charles Airhiavbere, Director at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru,near Jos in Plateau State.
The list also include Alhaji Shehu Ladan of the Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG), Mrs F.Y Emmanuel, a fellow of the institute, Dr. Lekan Are, Chairman Chief Executive, Kankanfo Inn, Ibadan Oyo State and Dr. Arthur Nylander also a fellow of the institute.
Others are Mrs. Alice N. Ndu of the Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State, Alhaji Musa A. Kazaure, Fellow and Chief Executive Office, Dini Digital Solution and Management, Kazaure, Jigawa State, Mr Jonathan Ogiku of the British America Tobacco Comapany and Mr. Victor Edozi.
The committee is charged with the mandate to look into the various problems that pose challenges to the nation's economic advancement goal especially the the dwindling state of power generation capacity, corruption, the general threat of insecurity in the Niger Delta region and is expected to submit first phase of its findings on or before December 2007.
