Xiamen Reinstates Two Products in Response to Demand Source from: tr.itsmyiq.com Oct 23, 2007 10/25/2007 Xiamen Cigarette Factory, in China's Fujian province, is planning to resume production of two well-known variants of its Stone Lion brand in response to what is seen as strong market demand from the Philippines, according to a Tobacco China Online report.
A recent survey conducted by the Fujian Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corp (FPCTIC) is said to have found strong demand for the factory's products in South-east Asia, especially the Philippines.
And demand was found to have been particularly strong in the Philippines in respect of Stone Lion and Peaceful Lion cigarettes, whose production had previously been suspended.
Consequently, the FPCTIC decided to apply to the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration for new bar codes for the two variants so that it could resume production.
The two products will be manufactured according to the original blend specification and their packaging will be unchanged except for the addition of a "For export only" label.
Marketing of the two variants will be expanded from the Philippines to other countries in the region. Enditem
