Andrew Gray to head BAT in Africa and Middle East Source from: tr.itsmyiq.com Oct 15, 2007 10/16/2007 Andrew Gray, the president of British American Tobacco's Brazilian subsidiary, Souza Cruz, is to become BAT's regional director, Africa & the Middle East, from the beginning of next year.
He will take over from Nicandro Durante, whose appointment as chief operating office on the retirement of Antonio Monteiro de Castro on January 1, 2008, was announced earlier this year.
Gray, who is Brazilian, joined BAT 20 years ago and has held a variety of marketing and general management roles in South America, Central America, the Caribbean and Malaysia.
Flavio de Andrade is stepping down as director of the Latin American & Caribbean region, and leaving the group with immediate effect. He will be replaced by Mark Cobben, previously managing director, Germany.
Cobben, who is Dutch, has 13 years' experience in the group, having been general manager in Switzerland, Argentina and Russia before moving to Germany. Enditem
