Arkansas Tobacco Sales to Minors Down

Research shows fewer tobacco dealers are selling to underage teens and Arkansas has the best rating of any state in the nation. Arkansas has a violation rate of just over 2%. The average state rating is close to 11%. Little Rock tobacco shop "Linda's Tobacco World" has been randomly inspected twice, and they passed the test both times. Linda says her policy is everyone gets carded. "If the kid isn't old enough they don't need to get started because cigarettes are addictive, they know that, and it's not the cool thing to do anymore," Hamilton says. If a state has a violation rate of more than 20%, it may get block grant money taken away. Enditem
