Race Takes On Tobacco Use

Schools, teams and families all laced their sneakers to raise awareness for lung cancer.
Runners lined up in Binghamton's Recreation Park, to run against tobacco use.
The 5-K event was sponsored and organized by the Lung Cancer Awareness group.

The event also included exhibits and information on the risks of tobacco.
"We raise more awareness for the whole situation, so hopefully the other people will gain knowledge so they don't pick up smoking," said Terry Madsen of Vestal.
"It's always fun to get a good race in, but it's for a good cause, it's kind of like double dipping you know," said Michael Olson of Vestal.
The coach of the Vestal boys cross country team, won the race with a time 17 minutes and 15 seconds. Enditem
