Graphic Warnings Due in China by 2009

Tobacco producers in China will have to print graphic warnings on cigarette packs by January 2009 to comply with the country's commitment to the World Health Organization's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, according to a report by Winny Wang for the Shanghai Daily quoting an official with the Ministry of Health. According to the convention, 30 per cent of packs would have to be covered by warnings, said Li Xinhua, an official with the State Tobacco Control Office, which is affiliated to the ministry. Enditem
