S.C. Tobacco Festival Golf Tournament set for Sept. 23 Source from: Sep 04, 2007 scnow.com 09/05/2007 The S.C. Tobacco Festival Golf Tournament has been scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 23 at the Lake City Country Club.
This year's event will be a Four Person Captain's Choice Tournament.
Each team will have a minimum total handicap of 40 with only one player with a handicap of seven or less.
Handicaps will need to be verified by a club pro, USGA handicap or subject to approval by the tournament committee.
The cost is $50 per person or $200 per team.
You can arrange your own team or the tournament committee will place you on a team if you sign up as an individual.
Entry deadline is Friday, Sept. 21 by 6 p.m.
After play, there will be an awards party with food and drinks for all participants.
Tee times will be by a shotgun start beginning at 1:30 p.m.
If there is a large turnout, a second start will be at 8:30 a.m.
There will be prizes for the winning teams, prizes for "Closest to the Pin" on the Par 3s and a Longest Drive.
This year's tournament will also feature a Hole in One Contest.
This will be the third year since the golf tournament has been a part of the festival events the events after being off the schedule for a number of years. In his remarks concerning the upcoming tournament, Tournament Chairman, Tarrell Floyd said, "It is a great afternoon of fun, fellowship and golf with monies being contributed to our local Chamber of Commerce. All golfers in the area need to get a team together and come play with us. If you don't have a team, we will find you one!"
