Key Cigarette Factory to Install New Production Line to Raise Output

Xiamen Cigarette Factory in southeast China's Fujian Province - a key tobacco manufacturer designated by the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) - will soon install a new cigarette production line, known as the Golden Bridge Cigarette Production Line, in an effort to raise the annual output of its competitive Golden Bridge blend-type cigarette brand. On August 3, the project of developing the Golden Bridge Cigarette Production Line passed technical proof by a panel of experts organized by the STMA. In the report of technical proof, the panel of experts affirmed the feasibility of developing the Golden Bridge Cigarette Production Line, saying that the development of the new production conforms to the direction of developing Chinese-style cigarettes, with vast marketing potential. So far, the project of developing the Golden Bridge Cigarette Production Line has been implemented with sufficient funding, and the site for installing the production line has been chosen. Over recent years, Xiamen Cigarette Factory has been striving to greatly promote the development of the Golden Bridge cigarette brand, in an effort to turn it into the No. 1 Chinese-style blend-type cigarette brand and also one of the biggest cigarette brands in China. The cigarette factory has decided to significantly enlarge its capacity to produce Golden Bridge cigarettes in 2007, hoping that the annual output of the Golden Bridge will have reached 100,000 cases (5 billion cigarettes) by the end of 2010, will have further reached 300,000 cases (15 billion cigarettes) by the end of the next five-year period.
