Strong Quarter for USST

Net sales of U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. were $491.3 million on GAAP basis in the second quarter of 2007, up 3.9 percent from the 2006 quarter. Operating income increased 0.9 percent to $227.6 million, and net earnings increased 3.9 percent to $140 million.
