Construction of Chinese-Funded Tobacco Manufacturer Completed in Romania

A grand ceremony was held on June 26 to inaugurate Sinoroma Industry Com SRL - a tobacco manufacturing enterprise funded by China National Tobacco Corporation - in Buzau in eastern Romania upon completion of its construction. Attending the inaugural ceremony were more than 200 dignitaries including Deputy Director-General Li Keming of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) - the regulator of China's tobacco industry. In an address to the ceremony, Li expressed appreciation to the Romanian government and the Chinese embassy in Romania for their assistance in the construction of Sinoroma Industry Com SRL, and pledged full-scale support of the STMA to the Chinese-funded tobacco manufacturer. Sinoroma Industry Com SRL has been the largest tobacco manufacturing project funded by China National Tobacco Corporation overseas so far. With an investment of over 20 million U.S. dollars, Sinoroma Industry Com SRL has a designed annual cigarette production capacity of 400,000 cases (20 billion cigarettes), mainly Dubliss brand cigarettes destined to markets in Romania.
