TTM lifting Output Ahead of Tax Hikes Source from: tobaccoreporter.com Thailand, July 6, 2007 07/09/2007 The Thailand Tobacco Monopoly will increase its production ahead of an expected excise tax hike on cigarettes, reports The Bangkok Post. The cabinet on 3 July agreed to increase the maximum excise tax for cigarettes to 90 percent of the ex-factory price or 60 baht ($1.92) per pack.
The Thailand Tobacco Monopoly produces 105 million cigarettes per day and maintains an inventory equal to around seven to 10 days of product to meet market demand. Enditem
