TTM lifting Output Ahead of Tax Hikes

The Thailand Tobacco Monopoly will increase its production ahead of an expected excise tax hike on cigarettes, reports The Bangkok Post. The cabinet on 3 July agreed to increase the maximum excise tax for cigarettes to 90 percent of the ex-factory price or 60 baht ($1.92) per pack. The Thailand Tobacco Monopoly produces 105 million cigarettes per day and maintains an inventory equal to around seven to 10 days of product to meet market demand. Enditem
