JT Warns of 'Deceptive' E-Mails

Japan Tobacco Inc is warning through a notice on its website of what it describes as deceptive e-mails being targeted at the US. 'Several real estate owners in the United States have received what appear to be deceptive e-mails from an individual or individuals who identify themselves as recipients of JT's sponsorship or employees of JT, seeking residences in the U.S,' the notice says^ After an investigation, it has been determined that the individual or individuals in question have not been and are not recipients of JT sponsorship or employees of JT, and are in no way affiliated with the JT Group. 'JT asks members of the public to exercise extreme caution before responding to any such e-mails or committing to them financially,' the notice concludes.
