A.G.: Tobacco Money Can't Be Used To Close Deficit Source from: Monday, Jun 25, 2007 CRANSTON, R.I. 06/26/2007 Attorney General Patrick Lynch said Monday that he won't sign off on the General Assembly's plan to use tobacco settlement money to close the state's budget deficit.
The proposal was included in the state budget, which the General Assembly passed last week.
The attorney general said he would hold a news conference Monday evening.
