High-Level Zimbabwean Delegation Visits Tobacco Research Institute, Hongta Group Source from: www.yntsti.com 03/09/2006 A high-level Zimbabwean government delegation visited Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Science Research Institute and Hongta Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on March 6, expressing the hope to strengthen exchange and cooperation with the tobacco industry of China in technology and production.
The Zimbabwean delegation grouped Deputy Minister of Justice David Mangota, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Simon Pazvakavambwa, the Finance Ministry's treasury department chief Judith Kateera and the Tobacco Industry Marketing Board General Manager Judith kateera. Accompanying the Zimbabwean delegation on the visit were Deputy General Manager Gao Xuelin of China National Tobacco Import-Export Group Corporation and Deputy President Shi Yongchao of Hongta Group.
During the visit, the senior Zimbabwean officials held talks with their Chinese hosts. The two sides agreed that China and Zimbabwe should manage to strengthen exchange in tobacco science and technology, particularly in tobacco seedlings development and tobacco growing technology, and that each of the two sides should always open the door of cooperation to the other. Both sides expressed the belief that cooperation between the two countries will be even more successful in future.
In the talks, Mutepfa said that as China is a big and importance market, Zimbabwe wishes very much to cooperate with China in the tobacco trade, and that the two countries should strengthen cooperation in the introduction of fine tobacco varieties and in the development of tobacco seeds processing technology.
Mutepfa also said that the Zimbabwean side hopes to acquire some advanced applied technology for tobacco seeds development and tobacco growing. He invited leaders of China's tobacco industry to visit Zimbabwe. Enditem
