Project Launched to Develop Delicately Aromatic Leaf Tobacco Products

The Fujian Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation and Fujian Provincial Tobacco Corporation - respectively in charge of the manufacturing and commercial sectors of the tobacco industry in southeast China's Fujian Province - have kicked off a project to jointly develop delicately aromatic leaf tobacco products with distinct local characteristics. The two corporations have set up a panel of leaders to take charge of the work of developing delicately aromatic leaf tobacco products, and also three special bodies respectively in charge of production technology, industrial application and production-marketing organization, to facilitate fulfillment of the project in an all-round way. The panel of leaders includes leading officials of both the manufacturing and commercial sectors of the provincial tobacco industry in charge of tobacco production and trade. Fujian is a major high-quality leaf tobacco producing region in China. For decades, high-quality leaf tobacco produced in Fujian has been well received by the tobacco industry in China. Initiation of the project to develop delicately aromatic leaf tobacco will contribute to further promoting sustainable development of the business of tobacco production in Fujian, increasing the competitiveness of leaf tobacco produced in the province, and supplying the tobacco industry of China with higher quality raw materials for producing "Chinese-style" cigarettes.
