Chinese Factory Well Fulfills Assignments to Process Leaf Tobacco for BAT

Wenshan Prefecture Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory in southwest China's Yunnan Province has well fulfilled its assignments to process leaf tobacco for British American Tobacco (BAT) for consecutive years since the two sides started business cooperation in 2001. Wenshan Prefecture and BAT entered into cooperation in developing exclusive high-quality leaf tobacco production and supply bases in 2001. In 2005, Wenshan Prefecture Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory took an assignment from BAT to process nearly 30,000 dan (nearly 1,500 tons) of leaf tobacco in 14 grades for the transnational tobacco giant. In fulfilling the assignment, the factory managed to organize production seriously in accordance with the relevant technical requirements of BAT, making strict quality control over leaf structure, the content of cut stems, the content of water in packing, etc. In just 10 days, the factory accomplished the processing of 28,181.2 dan (1,409.06 tons) of leaf tobacco for BAT, producing 19,502.6 dan (975.13 tons) of strips and 6,028.6 dan (301.43 tons) of cut stems, with all technical standards meeting the requirements of the BAT.
