Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory Completes Conversion Into Joint-Stock Company Source from: STMA 05/26/2005 Yishui Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory in east China's Shandong Province has recently completed the process of conversion into a joint-stock company, known as Shandong Shenyi Leaf Tobacco Redrying Co., Ltd., on the basis of a State-owned enterprise.
Established in June 1977, Yishui Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory has a COMAS-style 6,000kg/h leaf tobacco threshing and redrying line installed in 1998. It has successively processed nearly 1 million dan (nearly 50,000 tons) of strips for more than a dozen Chinese tobacco manufacturing enterprises in Shanghai, Wuhan, Tianjin, Qingdao and other Chinese cities. It has also processed over 60,000 dan (over 3,000 tons) of strips for Continental Tobacco Company and Universal Tobacco of the United States.
Over recent years, Yishui Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory has taken a series of steps to strengthen management. In July 2002, it smoothly passed the certification of the ISO9001:2000 international quality assurance systems. In October 2003, Yishui Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory was designated as a leaf tobacco threshing and redrying factory in Shandong by Shanghai Tobacco Group – the second largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer.
With 15 million yuan (1.8 million U.S. dollars) in registered capital, the converted Shandong Shenyi Leaf Tobacco Redrying Co., Ltd. is jointly funded by Shandong Linyi Tobacco Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Tobacco Group. Enditem
