Chinese Region Receives Big Orders for Leaf Tobacco Supply

Southwest China's Chongqing City - a large tobacco-producing region in China - has received big orders for the production and supply of leaf tobacco over the next three years. On March 28, Sichuan-Chongqing Regional China Tobacco Industry Corporation, which is responsible for overseeing tobacco production in Sichuan Province and the neighboring Chongqing City, sent a high-level delegation to Chongqing City to discuss ways of increasing tobacco production in Chongqing with top leaders of Chongqing City Tobacco Company. The two sides held in-depth consultations on the development of leaf tobacco production bases in Chongqing, the structure of tobacco plantations, policies on investment, technical measures and quality control concerning leaf tobacco production in the region, and State purchase and allocation of leaf tobacco from the region. On the basis of the in-depth consultations, the two sides signed an agreement on the increase of tobacco production in Chongqing over the next three years.
