RUSSIA: Amcor Rentsch Invested Another Euro 3.85 Million in Novgorod Plant Source from: tobaccojournal.com 01/07/2005 Amcor Rentsch Novgorod, Russian branch of the Australian packaging supplier Amcor Rentsch, has invested another Euro 3.85 million in its facility in Novgorod, halfway from Moscow to St Petersburg. The latest investment was made in the construction of the fifth press completed over September to November 2004, turning the plant into the world's biggest, with a capacity of over 6 billion pieces per year, and opening 40 new jobs. The Novgorod-based plant for hard-cap cigarette pack blanks was launched in 2000 and now accounts for over one third of the Russian market, having all major cigarette manufacturers, multinationals above all, among its customers. Over the first eleven months of the year 2004 the company registered a 23.2 per cent year-to-year increase in output, reports Delovoy Petersburg. Enditem
