Ga. Tobacco Farmers to Get $600M

The U.S. Senate Monday passed a conference report for a corporate tax bill that includes a $10.1 billion buyout provision for the nation's tobacco farmers, including some $600 million for Georgia tobacco farmers over 10 years. "As I have traveled the state in recent months, Georgia tobacco farmers have been clear that a tobacco buyout is their top priority," said Gov. Sonny Perdue. "This important legislation will have a positive impact on tobacco farmers throughout our state."
