Bulgartabac Auctions 12 More Plants

Bulgaria's state-owned tobacco giant Bulgartabac put up for sale in a public tender another twelve tobacco-processing enterprises. The twelve companies are pooled in two groups. The first group consists of Gotse Delchev BT, Pazardzhik BT and Kardzhali BT. Candidate buyers for this group are required to place a deposit or bank guarantee totaling BGN 100,000 for each company. The second group consists of Dulovo BT, Harmanli BT, Parvomai BT, Smolyan BT, Yambol BT, Dupnitsa BT, Isperih BT, Sandanski BT and Topolovgrad BT. The required deposit or bank guarantee for the companies in this group is set at BGN 30,000. Shortlisted buyers will be able to submit binding bids by November 12 for companies from the first pool and by October 29 for the companies from the second pool. At the beginning of August Bulgartabac's supervisors picked up British American Tobacco p.l.c., Imperial Tobacco Group PLC and Philip Morris Holland B.V. as eligible candidates for the sale of its four most profitable cigarette plants. Bulgartabac Holding includes twelve processing and nine packaging and filter-producing factories.
