Key Cigarette Factory Holds Big Meeting on Leaf Tobacco Supply

Changsha Cigarette Factory – one of the 36 key Chinese tobacco manufacturers based in south central China's Hunan Province – held a meeting on the exchange of information on leaf tobacco supply on May 28. [img border=0 hspace="4" vspace="4" align="left" src=http://www.tobaccochina.com/english/picture/040708yanyeshougoup.jpg] The meeting, the biggest of its kind held by enterprises of China's tobacco industry, was intended to strengthen the exchange of information on leaf tobacco supply between producers and users of leaf tobacco. Attending the meeting were more than 130 leaders or representatives of tobacco producing regions and tobacco companies. Speaking at the meeting, the participants expressed their opinions on the issue of bona fide in tobacco trade, close cooperation in the establishment of a leaf tobacco supply chain and formation of long-term strategic partnership in leaf tobacco supply, in order to reach a win-win situation. In an address to the meeting, Director Lu Ping of Changsha Cigarette Factory said that the sustained development of Changsha Cigarette Factory over the past more than 20 years would not have realized without the great support of leaf tobacco producers and suppliers. Changsha Cigarette Factory wishes to establish long-term strategic partnership in the business of leaf tobacco supply with all producers and suppliers, Lu said, expressing the hope that Changsha Cigarette Factory and leaf tobacco producers and suppliers will be able to complement one another in operating the tobacco trade, to realize a win-win situation. Speaking on the same occasion, General Manager Xie Xiaobo of Chongqing City Leaf Tobacco Production, Purchase and Sales Corporation said that the meeting has contributed to establishing a closer relationship between the participating enterprises, paving the way for realizing a win-win situation on an equal footing. Also speaking at the meeting, Deputy General Manager He Wei of Yunnan Baoshan City Tobacco Company said that tobacco producers should strive to develop highly competitive products and brands, in order to better cooperate with tobacco manufacturing enterprises.
