New 'Jobs' Bill Introduced; Committee Action Next Thursday Bill Would End Tariffs, Help Manufacturers, Include Tax Reforms A bill to end tariffs against U.S. products and help American manufacturers and workers was unveiled today on Capitol Hill. The American Jobs Creation Act of 2004, H.R. 4520, was introduced today in the House of Representatives in anticipation of a Ways and Means Committee markup next Thursday, June 10. "The American Jobs Creation Act will put an end to escalating sanctions against American products. It will also provide tax relief to U.S. manufacturers to help create more American jobs and help U.S.-based businesses succeed in the worldwide market while building jobs at home," said Ways and Means Chairman Bill Thomas (R-CA). "We've had a good dialogue with Members, and this new legislation reflects changes based upon the ideas and concerns raised during our conversations," Thomas added. "This bill is worthy of bipartisan support." Enditem
