India's tobacco board has deferred its decision on the Karnataka crop size following protests by farmers against low prices on auction floors, reported Business Line. Farmers complained prices were already decreasing on Andhra Pradesh auction floors and would further decline if a large crop size for Karnataka's current season was fixed. They are also objecting to the possible regularization of a large number of unlicensed barns in Karnataka, which would increase the crop size and decrease prices. Enditem
