Tobacco Farmers Contracted By BAT Receive An Insurance Payout

Tobacco farmers who are contracted to the British American Tobacco have received an insurance payout of 48 million shillings, as compensation for the drought and pests that destroyed most of the crop in the 2017/18 season. The UAP Old Mutual Group says the payout is targeted at 1,200 farmers in the Eastern, Western and Nyanza parts of the country. This is the second batch of insurance payment after 3,900 farmers received 180 million earlier in the year.  Enditem
