Pakistan: Tobacco Exports down 30.18 Percent in July-January Fiscal Year 2016

The country's export of tobacco fell by 30.18 percent to $5.261 million in July-January 2015-16, official figures showed. The total fall in tobacco export in July-January 2015-16 was $2.274 million from $7.535 million in July-January 2014-15 to $5.261 million in July-January 2015-16, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said.

In term of volume, tobacco export declined by 29.36 percent or 640 metric tons to 1540 metric tons in July-January 2015-16 from 2180 metric tons in July-January 2014-15. In January 2016, tobacco export, however, shot up by 151 percent or $0.969 million to $1.612 million from $0.643 million in January 2015. Export volume of tobacco in January 2016 surged by 118.27 percent or 233 metric tons to 430 metric tons from 197 metric tons in January 2015. Enditem
